Paragraph là một đoạn văn.

Essay là một bài văn, thường thì phải có ít nhất là 3 đoạn văn, introduction, body and conclusion (mở đầu, mình, và kết luận). Trong đoạn mở đề thì phải có thesis statement (luận đề).

Viết essay thì có nhiêù loại khác nhau tùy theo mình muốn diễn tả cái gì. Kể lại một chuyện gì đó, so sánh sự khác biệt/giống nhau, giả thích, chia loại, vv. có khoảng chừng 10 lối viết khác nhau.

Ý mình hỏi là cái này

Mình tập viết nhưng chưa rõ mong bạn chỉ rõ hơn mở đầu nên viết cái gì ?? Có nhưng kiểu viết mở đầu như thế nào ??

Lối viết văn thì như nhau (như tiếng Việt). Mục đích là làm cho người đọc hiểu. Còn về vấn đê` link thì tôi không biết. Những thứ này tôi phải tới trường học chứ không thê? tự học được.

Nê'u muốn thì viết rồi đăng lên cho mọi người xem để cho ý kiến. Ðừng sợ sai. Thâ't bại là mẹ thành công.

Thesis statement là câu luận đề. Thường thì nằm ở đầu phần mở đầu để cho người đọc biết rõ người viết sẽ viết về cái gì, sẽ chứng minh những gì và sẽ kết luận như thế nào.
Mới học tiếng Anh thì không cần biết đến cái này.

Trong đại học ở Mỹ các học sinh VN thường hay bị điểm thấp về văn là vì viết vòng vo tam quốc. Các học sinh Mỹ vô thẳng vấn đề, rồi chứng minh và kết luận. Họ không rườm rà mầu mè. Ðây là tôi nói đến cái bài văn của các lớp như sử, tâm lý, nhạc, vv.

Còn ngoài trường học ra thì tha hồ mà vẽ hươu vẽ vượn. Ðọc các tiểu thuyết của Mỹ thì biết.

if u r a new learner, u must begin to write a paragraph. U r not able to write an completed essay. beside studying Vocabulary, u've got to use some vocabulary that you can indicate the logical relationship among the sentences in your writing.there are some transition words that help ur writing be better:
for example, meaning is addition, u can use also, additionally,furthermore, in addition, moreover
cause/ result: therefore, thus, as a result, as a consequence, consequently, for this reason
choice : instead, on the other hand
comparison: also, as well as, both...and, by comparison, similarly,likewise
concession: nevertheless, in spite of, despite
summary or conclution: after all, all in all, finally, overall, in conclution, in closing, in summary, in sum
emphasis: in fact, indeed, undoubtedly

Poor Schoolchild


It is said that poverty has the most poisonous influence to anyone who suffers

from it. And of course, poor children have a different experience going to school.

Apparently, for a child suffering from hunger, going to school is not important,

having enough food to eat is! Many are going to school hungry. They have no

fundamental legal interest in securing a free lunch, also. Therefore, on empty stomachs,

children become easily distracted and have problems concentrating on their lessons.

But food is just a part of their going-to-school experience, another one is clothing. Some

schools require school dress codes, that mark out the rich from the poor and “help” poor

schoolchild be unable to pass over the prevention of prejudice. Moreover,with the

relatively low budget of their family, book problem is unavoidable. And we can see

clearly that the experiences of school for children from poor families are narrrower and

less rich. For instance, children in disadvantaged school have limited access to music, art

and out-of-school activities that children in advantaged school generally take for granted.

Especially, poor children also experience negative feelings. They feel deprived, part of

the “poor group”, embarrassed, and even hurt. And they know how unfair it is to be

shouted at by teachers…

Poor children are not so lucky. They have no choice but face to social conflict.

They are picked on about their clothes, food and lack of participation in activities-

inadequacies all too apparent to the children and to those around them. That’s why

children who grow up in poverty have a much lower chance of success in school and in

life, which is a really big disadvantage for themselves and their parents.
