How to use good, best, well...?

Hi

I have a litte question: how to use good, best, well...? Because good, best, well... in Vietnamese language mean hay (tốt) so how I don't know use it in context (gramartical structure). Please help me!

Good, Better, Best are used in comparision.

For Example:

I play Chinese chess very good, but my friend plays it better. Most of all, Trai Coc Xanh plays Chinese chess best.

He is good, but she is better. And I am the best.

I am a good cook, but my mother is a better one.

He is the best novelist in the world.

He is one of the best doctors in the world.

In compared, she is better. (In this sentence, it is understood "hiêu ngam", that she is compared with some body, and she is better)

Good answers. Just a minor correction, you should put "I play Chinese chess very WELL,..." In general, well is an adverb, so it should modify verbs, whereas good is an adjective, so it should modify nouns.

For example:

He jumps well.
They sing well.


She is a good singer.
We are good athletes.

In every day conversation, it becomes acceptable to say "I play Chinese chess very good", although grammatically it should be "...well"

Good, better, best: Tỉnh từ này trong luc so sánh thay đổi theo thứ tự như thế. So sánh 02 thí dụ sau:

A is good, B is better. They are the best.
A is nice, B is nicer. They are the nicest.

Thường thường Tỉnh từ phụ nghĩa cho động từ thì phải đổi ra trạng từ:
good ra well, beautiful ra beautifully, nice ra nicely....
Adverb: She was singing, dancing beautifullyon the stage. I love her so much.
Adverb: He has been playing piano WELL but has not tried hard
enough....
WELL (adjective): I am well. I feel WELL
WEll (noun): I got some water from the WELL.
