Kể chuyện thì phải dùng thì past simple mới đúng. Xin sửa lại:
Last saturday, we decided go to the seaside because of hot weather. We hired a car and took turn to drive to the Vung Tau beach. We chatted and sang funnily on the way . Arriving the beach, we could smelt the salt air and it made us more eager. Then we all run to the seawater, the beach was full of sunlight, cold breezes and crowded with people. Some girls with bikini look attractive, the sea-food and drinks were rather expensive but delicous. Finally, the day was out and we arranged to go home.

Ở VN thuê mướn xe là chuyện thường, có thể thuê một, hai ngày hay có thể thuê dài hạn theo tháng.
the day went out not the day was went out, thank you. In VN, as you know, people go to the beach even in the evening or after having dinner on Summer days.

The instruction ask her to imagine as if it were happening, not to tell a story from the past. Using the present tense is correct.
