Landslide victims found in Costa Rica LA FATIMA DE ATENAS, Costa Rica – Rescuers have recovered the bodies of 10 people, including two girls ages 11 and 16, killed by a landslide. They were still searching yesterday for more missing.
Torrential rains caused the hillside to collapse Thursday, taking out a retaining wall under construction and burying several homes in La Fatima de Atenas, a hilly town northeast of the capital.

You're correct. Lanslide is more like "đất trôi", "đất trượt", "đất lở" from mountainous or hillside areas due to too much rain, whereas "đất sụp" is due to lack of underground support for whatever reason, causing the land surface to collapse making a big hole, sometimes in the middle of the street!
