Default Translate our students name to English

We have a new Vietnamese student and her first name is Duong. Can someone help me translate her name to an English name?

Most likely her name is Dương. It means Sun or Ocean.

Dương also means "goat" but I think this is not what her parents meant to name her.

Anyone who teaches me one word - even half a word - is still my teacher.
    2nd Version:
Even he who teaches me the smallest bit can still be called my teacher

Please correct my grammar as you see fit. Much appreciated!

Is it possible that it is the verb meaning "to seem; to be just like"? She has an identical twin.

UFO = unidentified flying object (Im sure you know this)

To answer your question, I need to ask u a question. Do you teach ESL? If so, your students probably dont know what UFO really means, they think it's simply alien. I guess either Dưong's behaviors are weird, or Duơng's friends are trying to pick on her, thats why they call her UFO.

    Just my 2 cents

    It is suspicious.
I think someone here is pretending as a teacher to getting know a Vietnamese name's meaning. There is no need to find out somebody name's meaning unless that person tell you or ask you to do so, beside person's name never be translated.

Đáng thương nhất của đời người là tự ti.
Tự đại + Tự ti = thất bại đáng thương nhất

    Hi.
The meaning of her name depends on her middle name:

    Thùy Dương: Gentle Ocean/Sea
    Ánh Dương:The Sun light
    Thái Dương: the Sun
    Minh Dương: Bright Sun
    etc...
