    Default Learning your Vietnamese Languate

    Hi,
I'm a retired lady who grew up here in the South part of Louisiana.
For about 15 years now, I have been helping Vietnamese people
who have come to America. I now have a new couple who arrived here 3 weeks ago. They want to learn English and
    I want to learn Vietnamese.

I'm teaching them English, but how do I easily learn Viet?

I love the people so much. They are genuinely good, generous individuals.

I thinh Vietnamese is not hard to learn. I think you totally lẻarn it. Of course, if you learn popular vietnamese just to communicate . It is diFficult only when you learn VN newspaper or literature

I think you should ask them, for example "what is the vietnamese for the english/american basket" and they'll answer "rỗ " or "cái rỗ" (ro/cai ro) and little by little you know some more vietnamese. You teach them ten English words and you'll learn at least one vietnamese word from them

Viet is really a difficult language to learn... i think so ...u hardly understand Viet's conversations becoz they often use slang, emotional-words while talking..u should come to mour country and I am sure that soon u can understand at least 80% what Viet say...
