Paddy... yes the gioi = earth=world....I didn't translate it literally word for word..

for me I took it world as universe...as universe= greater than earth...for the sentence is an exaggeration in itself...I wouldn't miss it for the WORLD..

The sentence is a contraction. Its real meaning is "I would not exchange my visit to the sc-fi fair for the world"

for all the world as if/as though.....for all the world like sb/sth (formal) =exactly as if...; exactly like sb/sth

for example:
She behaved for all the world as if nothing unsual had happened.
He looked for all the world like a schoolboy caught stealing apples.

Yes. In those examples, "for all the world" can be removed without changing the meaning. The addition of "for all the world" adds some emphasis but means "to everybody".
