Hello football lovers, please help me get the meaning of "one torched marker"

No need to translate, just please help me get the meaning of one torched marker in this sentence:
"Cristiano Ronaldo quickly demonstrates how great timing, teamwork, and an explosive speed burst lead to one torched marker and a ball in the back of the net."

I'm glad you provided the whole sentence because I've never heard of that phrase before. However, now that I have the context I can tell you what it means.
A marker marks an opposition player to prevent him from playing.
The sentence is saying that Ronaldo is so fast that when he runs by his marker he sets him alight and leaves him for dead. In other words the marker has been torched. Torch is normally a noun but it is used as a verb when one wants to describe a deliberate act of setting something alight. In England, the press often say that car thieves torch the cars that they have stolen. I hope that helps.

They've had many nightmares and I know the one to which you are referring. 3-0 at half time, 3-5 at full time. Same opponent too!haha
Of course there was the time in 1977 (??) when Spurs lost 7-0 at Liverpool.

By the way, I heard the phrase "too much torch" in the movie "Taxi" also. This phrase was said to the bankrobber by the cabdriver when she helped to take the cob chasing the bankrobberies.
Does it have the same meaning as in sentence found by PhongLan?
