Fracture nên dịch là nứt xương thì đúng hơn. Vì có nhiều fracture không cần bó bột (cast). Còn gẫy là bảo đảm phải bó bột.

Cái bệnh loãng xương này người già là bị chứ không chỉ mấy bà đâu. Chừng 40 trở lên là nên uống thêm chất vôi, hoặc ăn thêm bơ sữa, yogurt vô.

Tôi hiểu "Density" có nhiều nghĩa trong đó có nghĩa Tỷ trọng. Nhưng khi đề cập đến Tỷ trọng (tiếng VN) thì người ta nghĩ ngay đến ý nghĩa FIXED của nó.
Tỷ trọng của nước (H2O) là 1; tỷ trọng của sắt Fe là 7.8 vv....Như vậy bạn làm sao giải thích xương của người này rổng nhiều hơn (porous) người kia bằng danh từ tỷ trọng?

Định nghĩa (2a) ở trên của density dùng thường trong khoa học và kỹ thuật bên Tây Phương:
density = trọng lượng (weight) của một đơn vị thể tích (volume)

TD:
Density of water = 1 g/cc (gram per cc, cc: cubic centimeter = milliliter). Nhưng đây chỉ là nói chung vì density of water thay đổi với nhiệt độ như sau:

4 độ C, density = 0.999972 g/cc (gần 1 g/cc nhất)
0 độ C, density = 0.999839 g/cc
25 độ C, density = 0.997045 g/cc

Từ khoa học Tây Phương phân biệt giữa density với specific gravity. Specific gravity không có đơn vị vì so sánh với một density của một chất nào làm gốc. Như nếu lựa density của nước ở 4 độ C là căn bản so sánh thì specific gravity của nước ở 4 độ C là 1.0 (so sánh với chính nó). Nhưng specific gravity của nước ở nhiệt độ khác sẽ thấp hơn 1.0. Nước đông thành đá (ice) thì specific gravity chỉ bằng 0.915 (ở 0 độ C). Vì vậy mà đá nổi trên mặt nước, và nhờ thế mà có sự sống trên trái đất này bởi nếu đá nặng hơn nước và chìm thì mùa đông cả đại dương sẽ bị đông xuống tận đáy biển, không gì sống nổi.

Không biết tiếng Việt có phân biệt giữa density với specific gravity hay dịch cả hai từ này là tỉ trọng?

Về đo xương thì khi xương rỗng, trọng lượng của cùng một thể tích sẽ giảm xuống và bone density sẽ giảm theo.
