    Hi husdat,

Here is my version, but i would wait for others' inputs, it might sounds better after it has been through a grinder.

Định mệnh chỉ đưa bạn đến 1 đoạn đường thôi,
Phần còn lại là tùy thuộc vào bạn.

    good luck

I recognize that this saying is so difficult to translate into Vietnamese.
However, I think its meaning is that "your fate is the past, the future is in your hand" How your future is depends on your decision

I recommend a Vietnamese famous verse, it comes from Kieu story by Nguyen Du a great poet of Vietnam. The verse is that "Xưa nay nhân định thắng thiên cũng nhiều"

The verse means that human being often overcome fate or destiny although it is given by the Creature high above.
