In 2), there is no comma after please. This is a common mistake with learners.

In 3), when we address someone directly, there should be a comma to mark off any preceding clauses (I don't believe you, Michelle).

In 4), we would probably add 'so' to emphasise the cause-effect relationship.

Punctuation before the quotation mark: if it is a relatively short quotation, use a comma. A colon can be used before a long quote.

Yes, there's a reason for everything I do, ha ha.

In British English, the default is single quotation marks; double quotation marks are used for quotes within quotes. This is the opposite of the American convention.
