Long story short: I was born in Vietnam, but my family immigrated to the United States about 2 years after my birth. I am practically Americanized, but I can still speak and understand Vietnamese fairly well. I may not know the rules or many big words but I can communicate with ease.
Problem is, I have trouble reading and writing. I can guess the pronunciation, but there are so many accent marks to learn. I just have to guess the inflections until I find a word that fits the context.
Anyone have any tips on how I begin learning? I'd really like if it I could find a book that is in English and Vietnamese, that way I can compare the two texts.
Thanks,
Dat
