    Default thank you chi carolton67

here I just post another letter need your help to translate it what we do during the summer time. I need to send this to the parents for next school year thank you very much..... I think this is going to be the last letter I'll send for this year and I will need your help for next year again I'll talk to you again in the Agust. Have a very safe summer, and once again thank you for verything, and here the letter that I have wrote:

    Dear teachers and parents/guardian;
The GCS 2007 Summer Writing Institutes have been posted online and are available for registration. Last year’s institutes were extremely successful and we’re looking forward to an even better Institute this year. There will be an Institute for K-2 and another for 3-5 teachers. The K-2 Institute’s focus will be the 2007 DPI training for K-2 teachers and writing as it fits within a Literacy Framework. The 3-5 Institute’s focus will be the 2007 DPI training Phase V: “Teaching beyond Narrative Writing” and teaching for growth in writing. Both sessions will emphasize modeling of effective lessons and exactly what would one see in an effective writing classroom.

To register for the K-2 session, go to the GCS website (Professional Development) and register for the course, GCS-CUI: Building Blocks for Successful K-2 Writers.

To register for the 3-5 session, go to the GCS website (Professional Development) and register for the course, GCS-CUI: Teaching for Growth in Writing Grades 3-5.

Please share this information with your principals and teachers so that they can plan accordingly. We’re looking forward to a great turn-out.

    Respectful yours,

Watney, I'll be missing your translation requests as they are always challenging. Have a great summer.

i think if the sentence is long, the accuracy of the machine translation would decrease. Hi to all, i am beginning to learn Vietnamese, so would need help from all of you. Carolton67, hope you could be my pal, but how to message you privately?

    Hi and welcome,

Regarding the accuracy of the translation tool, you can also have simple 2-3 words and it would still give you an inaccurate translation; that's why I never use it. I would be happy to help you if I can. To send a private message, you would click on the "User CP" link on the far left hand side of the second toolbar at the top of the page. Scroll down on the left side of the page which will give you a menu of options. click on the send new message link under the Private messages heading. That will take you to the messages page where you will need to enter the user name of the person you want to contact.

Sorry, Watney. I can't make out what this is due to the absence of diacritics (accent marks). I can usually decipher things without accent marks if I read it in the entire context . If you can provide some more info.

Hi Watney, I thought some more about your translation request. The closest thing I can think of is "thần kinh toạ" which is the sciative nerve. The sciative nerve is the major nerve of the leg that runs down behind the thigh. I don't know if this makes sense to you.

    Address/Phone Changes

Please IMMEDIATELY notify the school of any change in your address, home phone number or work phone number. It is CRITICAL that we be able to reach you in case of an EMERGENCY. If you have no phone, please send the number of a relative or neighbor and notify that person that you have identified him/her as an emergency contact.

    Adult Literacy Program/Room

Parents are encouraged to participate in furthering their own learning of English through our adult literacy program. Saturday classes will be available. More information will be communicated. In addition, the adult literacy room is available to parents during school hours to work on the curriculum, use the computers to enhance English learning, or to connect to the community.

    Arrival / Dismissal Procedures

    BUS RIDERS

Bus transportation is a privilege and provided for students as long as they do not abuse their right to ride the bus. Please be sure to have your child at the bus stop at least five minutes before the time the bus is to arrive. Encourage your child to use good conduct and self-control on the bus.

Students will not be allowed to change buses or go home any way other than their normal way. A student may not ride a different bus home without written permission from his/her parents and prior approval from the principal. Also, a student who does not usually ride a bus home in the afternoon cannot ride the bus in the afternoon without approval from the Bus Transportation office. Afternoon bus routes are different from morning routes. Students may be picked up only at designated stops.

    CAR RIDERS

Those parents who choose to bring and/or pick up their children from school by automobile should observe the following guidelines:

    1. The building does not open for students until 8:15

    2. Stay in the line of cars and do not pull out of line, even if your child has been dropped off or picked up.

    Attendance Policy

On the first day of school following an absence, the student will present to his/her teacher a written explanation of that absence. The written explanation should contain the following:

    a. Date(s) of absence

    b. Reason(s) for absence

    c. Signature of parent.

The written explanations will allow us to determine if the absences are excused or unexcused. If no written explanation is received, the absence will be considered unexcused. The following shall constitute valid excuses for temporary nonattendance of a student at school:

    a. Illness or injury

    b. Death in the immediate family

    c. Medical appointments

    d. Court proceedings

    e. Religious observances

    f. Educational opportunity.

Absences for other reasons are unexcused.

We will be happy to provide make-up work to all students who have excused absences. This should be completed within five days or sooner after returning to school. If a child is absent for an extended period of time, we will gladly send work home at your request. Let us know how we may be of assistance.

Students must be present at least half of the school day to be counted present. Any student arriving later than 12:00 pm or leaving earlier than 12:00pm will be considered absent for the day.

    Tardy Policy

Breakfast will not be served after 8:40 am unless children arrive on a late bus.

The following procedures will be followed when a student is tardy:

    1. A student arriving after 8:40 am must obtain a tardy pass from the office.

    2. Tardies are coded as unexcused except in the case of doctor’s appointments when accompanied by a written note from the doctor.

    Student Checkout Policy

    1. Children checked out prior to 3:35 pm must be signed out in the office.

    2. If anyone other than the parent or legal guardian is to pick up a child at school, the office must have written permission from the parent or legal guardian for that person to take the student off campus.

    3. Children who are being checked out must be sent for by office personnel. Our teachers are not to release children until this procedure has been followed.

    4. Checking students out prior to 3:35 is discouraged. Due to the activity needed to prepare for dismissal, we will not check out students after 3:25 pm.
