against: đối chiếu với, so sánh với
criteria": những tiêu chuẩn
subject matter against criteria: đối chiếu đề tài (đang thảo luận hay bàn cãi) với những tiêu chuẩn
measurement of a subject matter against criteria: sự đo lường của đề tài (đang thảo luận hay bàn cãi) đối với những tiêu chuẩn.

-It's often useful to know how many standard deviations a data point is from the mean . We define z-scores ,or standardized scores , as distance from x-(mean) per standard deviation .
-A z-score of +2 means that an observation is 2 standard deviations above the mean . For the weight data (x-(mean)=145.2 and s=23.7) , we can plot the data on the origional x-axis in pounds and the z-score axis simultaneously .

Thường thì biết một điểm (trong dữ liệu) lệch chuẩn bao nhiêu khỏi giá trị trung bình rất hữu ích. Chúng ta định nghĩa z-scores, hay là tiêu chuẩn hóa scores, là khoảng cách từ giá trị trung bình cho mỗi lệch chuẩn.
Một z-score có giá trị +2 nghĩa là quan sát được 2 lệch chuẩn trên giá trị trung bình. Cho dữ liệu về khối lượng (x trung bình = 145.2 và s = 23.7), chúng ta có thể vẽ đồng thời dữ liệu trên trục x (truyền thống) theo khối lượng và trên trục z-score .
x-(mean) là chữ x có cái gạch trên đầu ý: có nhiều ý nghĩa khác nhau, trong trường hợp này có ý là trung bình của x.

Cái này hơi lạ nhe. Lần đầu tiên tớ thấy chữ barren dùng để diễn tả bãi đậu xe. Thường thì nghĩa là cằn cỗi.
- Tôi thích quà nếu nó nhỏ hoặc [gọn] mà có thể được gởi đi dễ dàng.
A compound adjective is an adjective which comprises more than one word. Hyphens are used to link the words together to show that it is one adjective.
In this case six-hour is a compound adjective, no "s" is needed.

Chưa nghe tên Barren lần nào nhưng đâu biết được.
Nếu là tên thì phải là Barren parks/parked/is parking his car chứ.
Ừ nhỉ !!! Mà tớ thấy nó trên 1 tờ báo ý . Hem biết đó cóp hải là lỗi của người viết hay ko nữa .
Có chỗ xài chữ này cho chỗ đậu xe:
