    Yea, its really strange. They´ve been living here for 20 years already and he thinks in this way.... from 18th century. Also, she is 24, she should know what to do.

    She has the right to love and to choose her husband. If her dad doesnt care for her happiness in marriage. She doesnt need to think what her dad gonna do, even if he commits a suicide, and I think her dad wont do it.

    Hi Waguz, I feel sorry to your and your girlfriend's problems. I've heard many stories like yours. There are some parents like that in Vietnam too. The truth is that the parents worry too much about the girl's future and don't want her to "spoil" their "Vietnamese origin". You can wait until her father cools his head down. In mean time, try to learn about Vietnamese tradition and act if you're a real Viet guy when meet her dad again. Good luck to you.

    It seems everyone've tried to put the old dad to the death corner. What a pity on him.
