My dictionary shows nhà băng as verb and ngân hàng as noun.

So how do I pronounce ngân hàng? Does it sound like "gun han" in English?

Likewise for chính phủ? Does it sound like "chin who"?

I looked silly asking these

My girlfriend and I converse using Mandarin though she can read little English. She uses the Chinese words "警察", which means police, in all contexts relating government and police. So if I know how to say "chính phủ", I can clarify whether she meaning police or government.

As for "ngân hàng", I asked her whether village folks keep their money in bank. But she couldn't understand the Chinese words for bank therefore I couldn't get the message across.

Anyway, from the way she put it, banks in Vietnam charge a fee for cash withdrawal make from the ATM?
