Hi, all

My girlfriend sends me lots of sms, but many times I dont understand.

Can anyone explain what it means the letters in an sms?

Ex: "Minh co chuyen gap fai di ngay. Minh se hen lai ban sau." or "E jiet chet a! E de o nha roi!"

Yes, you call an older female "chị", and an older male "anh"

And if I may, what about this sentence:

Vay hom nay minh ko xem ha chi. Khi nao xem thi chi bao em nha

"chi anh"??? either they talk about two people chị & anh or Anh is a name. Vietnamese words have different meanings when different accent marks added too. In casual speaking language, anh is usually abbreviated to a, and em to e.

Vay hom nay minh ko xem ha chi. Khi nao xem thi chi bao em nha = Are we not going to watch it today? Let me know when you watch it.
