    To be: thì, là, bị, được, ở....

    Examples:
    To be punished: bị phạt.
    to be sick: bị bệnh.
    To be itchy: bị ngứa.

    u use "bị" in passive voice or negative meaning sentences
    For ex: Cái cây bị chặt= this tree is cut
    -tôi bị điểm kém= i got bad mark

    Bi = is to catch something or you have gotten something in a negative connotation.
    Toi bi danh- i got hit
    Toi bi de - i got flirt on
    Toi bi dau bung - I got a stomach ache
    Toi bi cam lanh- I catch a cold
    Toi bi cum- I catch a flu
    And so on... hope that helps too
