Vô duyên has two meanings in Vietnamese: 1. charmless, devoid of charm _2. not suited to one another.
Cô ấy thật là vô duyên = she is charmless (she has no charm)
Cặp/ đôi ấy thật là vô duyên = That couple is not suited to each other

Definitely the meaning is not "misfire".

I guess the meaning is "no attraction".
