Default How to write Gifts and Letters bằng tiếng Việt?

I've been searching around the internet, and I can't seem to find any info on how to address things in letters or gifts. I've tried the dictionary, but it just sounds weird...

So I was wondering how would you say things like "To" and "From" in Vietnamese

Also, how would you begin and end a letter?

For "Dear..." I know that you can say "Thưa ... " but wouldn't that sound too formal for a family member or close friend?

I'm also looking to learn equivalents of "Sincerely" "Yours Truly" "Love" etc...

Thanks ahead of time for your help

    To = đến
    From = từ

However, when "from" and "to" appear on the envelope we translate them a little bit different

    From(Ngừoi gửi) (top left)
    ______________
    ______________

    To(Ngừoi nhận)(bottom right)
    _________________________
    __________________________

-You dont have to write both of these words on the envelope. Just write name and address of sender and receiver on the right place.

    To older person:

    Kính thưa ông(grandpapa)/ bà(grandmama)/ ông bà(grandparents)/ Chú(uncle)/ cô(aunt)/ anh(brother)/ chị(sister)... (this way is very formal)
    or
Ông(grandpapa)/bà(grandmama)/ông bà(grandparents)/Chú(uncle)/cô(ant)... thương mến/thân yêu! (This is a very popular way to greet, and it appropriates to any body)

To your friends (about your age):
Name of the receiver thân mến/thuơng mến/thân yêu!

    "Sincerely" "Yours Truly" "Love" =
    To older person: Thương
    To friends: Thân

Note: This advice only appropriates to use in normal letters (like to say how is any thing going stuff)-Sorry I dont know how to translate "thư hỏi thăm"

    1st Version:
Anyone who teaches me one word - even half a word - is still my teacher.
    2nd Version:
Even he who teaches me the smallest bit can still be called my teacher

Please correct my grammar as you see fit. Much appreciated!

I suggest to use "KÍNH MẾN, KÍNH YÊU,... is better.
Thất bại lớn nhất của đời người là tự đại
Đáng thương nhất của đời người là tự ti.
Tự đại + Tự ti = thất bại đáng thương nhất

    @ Kimmai

You may want to write the letter in English (or even in Vietnamese if you can) and post it here and ask for translation help. I believe people here will help you out fast (remember don't make it too long though )

Cám ơn các bạn, nhất là dethuong_x0x và LtDra. (^ ^)
Thật ra, không có viết thư từ gì hết. Chỉ tín gởi quà đến một người bạn, rồi lúc đang viết xuốn bằng tiếng Anh, thì thấy rằng mình không biết cách viết "to" "from" bằng tiếng Việt, hơi bược mình, nên đi lên internet tìm hỏi thôi. (^ ^ )

    Thanks again! \(^ ^ )
