WHO DISCOVERED VACCINATION?

The word vaccination comes from the Latin word vocca, or "cow." In the late 1700s, an English doctor named Edward Jenner took some infected tissue from the sore of a milkmaid infected with cowpox, a disease of cows. He rubbed the sample into a scratch in another person's skin. This was the first reliable inoculation against the dreaded disease smallpox.
