    Exclamation Vietnamese definition help?

I found the following translation on Vdict:

    khái

    (địa phương) Tiger
Too proud to accept other's help
Anh ta khái lắm không muốn nhờ vả ai cả
He is too pround to ask for help from anyone

    ..

Does anyone know where the definition Tiger is valid?

    Thank you for your help.

Btw, I dont think "Khái" alone has any meaning.

"Khoái" = Really like, to be interested in
(I guess this one is the most likely to fit your sentence)

    "Đại khái" = Sloppy
    "Khái niệm" = Definition

Khái niệm => Vdict: notion; conception

Đại khái is "khái niệm bao quát" or 'khái niêm chung chung", so "General of conception" is an ideal here.

Thất bại lớn nhất của đời người là tự đại
Đáng thương nhất của đời người là tự ti.
Tự đại + Tự ti = thất bại đáng thương nhất

    Thank you for your help.
Anh ta khí khái lắm không muốn ai giúp = He is too proud to accept other's help.
You should say "khí khái" , if you say only "khái" somebody doesn't understand

Tiger = cọp, hổ, ông ba mươi.
But in astrology "tiger" is said "dần" . Giờ dần is the interval of 3.30 to 5.30 (in the morning)

    Default Thank you

Thank you for your help, but I really want to know where vdict came up with the definition "tiger (dia phuong)".

I am assuming this is just an incorrect definition?

    Thanks again.

    Hi there,
I believe "địa phương" here means dialect. In some regions of Vietnam (Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh), a tiger is called "khái" instead of "hổ", "cọp".
Some references can be found on the web:
