Just married! But in vietnamese?

Hello everybody.

My sister is getting maried soon and shortly after the wedding she and her husband are visiting Vietnam for their honeymoon.

I want to present them with shirts with the text "Just married" in Vietnamese on it, so they can take those along on their trip

On this site I found a translation for "newly-wed": người mới cưới.

Is this a correct translation, can I have the shirts printed? Are there differences for the male and the female, or does the same text apply to both?

You have a good idea!
But you are running into a different culture....You have not seen any Vietnamese kissing in public very often! And I have not seen "Vợ chồng mới cưới" painted on a car or printed on a Tshirt before in my life!
You'd rather have it printed in English to make it fit well, just like "one stone kills 02 birds". Your friends know what about, and the people in VN could see it when your friends are wearing it but not many people know what it means....
I am afraid that the people at that side of the world would curiously watch your friends, laughing... with unpredictable behavior!
It is up to you still.

"Vợ chồng ..." : Some kind of informal (or normal) calling of "yokefellow" [Husband and Wife]
"Đôi uyên ương ..." : Kind of formal, but seem abit luxurious to put it in a Shirt. These words are usually using in Wedding party.

2.Đôi uyên ương = a love couple/ a well-matched couple/ a beautiful couple (two lovers)
3.uyên ương = mandarin duck (a kind of bird)

Manh Nguyen's opinion is very exact. If you paint the words in Vietnamese on their shirts, many, many Vietnamese people smile or laugh at it.
Different countries, different cultures !

How about "we're on our honeymoon"?

My opinion: you just simply have it printed "just married", because in VietNam now people like to use English as their new style on almost everything.
