Post dịch dùm cum từ pull on

i got some confusing about this phrase'' pull on in this poem
    Daddy's Womb
i asked my father if i could swim,
and he said that i would drown.
The Sea would imprison me – he said
if my feet had left the ground.

So i walked out to the water,
and cried out – how ’bout now!
He said, a little bit further, Son,
and then you’ll leave the ground.

i stepped on sand then stone,
    from hollow ground to sturdy.
The sky was at my level as I
    gazed at the birdie.

The Sea brought me a new idea,
the urge to flee to the high.

i asked my Father if i could fly,
and he said, sure, Son – go try.

i jumped as high as i could.
Still, i landed on the ground.
i saw my Father pull on a chain,
then i knew that i was bound.

Thay vì nói là mang, măc vào thì "kéo lên để mang vào (hay cột vào)."
    bound ==> bind: cột vào.

–noun 1. an item of apparel that is pulled on, as a sweater or glove.

–adjective 2. designed to be put on by being pulled on: a pull-on jersey.

    ---

    Origin:
1915–20; n., adj. use of v. phrase pull on

Ðây 'pull on' là động từ, thì nghỉa là kéo hoặc kéo lên.

i saw my Father pull on a chain

tôi đã thấy ba tôi kéo một dây xích

Umm ... Isn't it mean that Father is masturbating ?
Because the last sentence "then i knew thta i was bound"= sau đó tôi biết rằng tôi đã "phạm vi"

    LtDra,

You have a ahem titillating translation.

Perhaps you can explain more in detail.

To me, perhaps I'm being naive, it meant the boy wanted to be free.

But his dad is holding him back, hence the chain.

And he knew it, because his dad pulled on the literal chain that bounded him.

It's like a little boy who wants to run free, but his parent, being a parent, has the boy on a "leash" or "chain" because he/she is afraid the boy would get hurt and would pull him back.

Bound means to be tied up, trói họăc cột lại.

Tớ nghĩ tính từ bound có nghĩa là [bị] ràng buộc hơn là trói cột. Bác nghĩ thế nào ???

"Cha tôi quét lá ở chùa
Chắc rằng tôi sẽ ở chùa quét sân"
    Ý thế chăng?
