What is a speaking exam? Is this some kind of public debate class, since you mention a topic ?

I'm vietnamese . I'm a freshman in university.My major is English. "speaking exam " means that giving a talk on class about 1 chosen topic

From the topics you mentioned, I assume that this is not a public debate class, but more a "presentation" class.

If the teacher grades you on presentation skill, don't spend too much time on what you talk about, but more on how you present your topic. Make eye contact, no "uhm, aha, you know, let's see". No hand gestrure (indicating poor communication skill). Voice dynamic, monotone voice will bore the audience. Don't read from notes,memorize but don't recite the essay like a tape recorder.

Usually in presentation there is a time limit for each person. So write what you want to talk about within the time limit. Usually one student will have about 90 seconds, so write out introduction, 2-3 points (data) and conclusion. Tape record your own presentation and play back to see if you make those mistakes I mentioned above.

Your post lacks information, so I just give you a generic way to do presentation.

BTY, what is the name of your class ?

One more thing, your audience won't know if you BS'ing about dating custom, so don't worry too much about it.
