    Unhappy How to use Home & House?

    I have a little question: How to use Home & house?
    Vietnamese language mean "nhà", so how i don't know use it in context. Help me plz!

    Here are some simple examples:

    Where are you going? I am going home
    What are you doing? I am cleaning my house
    Where is the ladder? It is at the back of the house
    Do you have a girlfriend? I have a girlfriend back home
    My house is on the corner of First and Main
    Where is your homework? I left it at home
    Welcome home.
    My home country is Vietnam
    He knocked on the door but no one was home
    You cannot eat before your father comes home
    The police searched house to house for the burglar
    Who is that man? He is a home buyer
    Where do you work? I work from home
    The movie will start when the house lights are turned down
    Do you want to call home?
    I like my mother's home cooking
    The home team won the soccer match


    In the following examples, you can use either "house" or "home"

    Beautiful house for rent. Beautiful home for rent.
    Clean 2 bedroom house. Clean 2 bedroom home.
    Their house was dirty. Their home was dirty.
    Can you give me directions to your house. Can you give me directions to your home.
    They are building a new home. They are building a new house.
    What is your house address? What is your home address?
    The house was destroyed in the fire. The home was destroyed in the fire.

    In the following examples, both "house" and "home" are used together:

    He was robbed out of house and home
    The children will eat us out of house and home

    Here are some examples of idioms and proverbs with "house" and "home"

    The performance brought down the house
    Drinks are on the house
    A man's home is his castle
    A woman's place is in the home. (Don't use this one, it will get you in trouble)
    There's no place like home
    Make yourself at home
    Charity begins at home
    The chickens have come home to roost
    Bring home the bacon
    She could dance until the cows come home
    His criticism hit home
    The trip was nothing to write home about
    One year after meeting they set up house together

    but, for me, it 's very diffichlt to compare home with house!

    cho em ké 1 chút ^^
    nói đơn giản thì "home" giống như là mái nhà, tổ ấm, còn "house" thì chỉ đơn giản là 1 ngôi nhà ( tức là nó mang ý nghĩa về giá trị vật chất nhiều hơn).
    đấy là theo em hiểu thì như thế.
    hi vọng là đúng.

    Thanx Courthie nhe. Minh cung nghi nôm na la nhu the nhưng ko hieu sao, khi dung minh cu hay bilung tung giua 2 tu do. Sau lan nay, hi vong minh ko bi sai khi dung Home va house nua. Thanx again.
