Thumbs up need help with some stuff :)

    Hi guys.
Could you please help me with translating or rather understanding those.

    - bá nghệ bá tri vị chi bá láp - Jack of all trades and master of none
But: what does the word "VI CHI" mean in this proverb.

    - ăn nên đọi, nói nên lời - I ve found translation as "Dot your i's and cross your t's" but I think it's incorrect.
Literally it means sth like - You need a bowl to eat, need the words to speak - right? What's the meaning of the proverb than? In what situation would you use it? coz this English equivalent means "Complete the job paying attention to the details. "

    - ăn cho đều, kêu cho đủ - and could someone please explain this one to me? I totally don't get the meaning. - found the translation to English - Share and share alike - but doesn't help much

that's for now I have plenty of more if someone is eager to help.
    cheers! cảm ơn nhé!

It means that even a young child know to eat with a bowl and use words to speak. Thus if you cannot do/know these simple tasks then you are a good for nothing/a loser..

    an example would be
ăn không nên đọi, nói không nên lời thì còn làm được cái trò trống gì ở đời này? (Nam Cao, “Sống mòn”)

Ăn cho đều = eat/share evenly
Kêu cho đủ = if you have a smaller portion than others, then you would whinge until you get the same as everyone else but not more than someone else.

from my understanding the translation means we must share/ be reasonable and not be greedy?

    My opinion:
Kêu cho đủ means gathering enough people (to get their share)
Ăn cho đều , kêu cho đủ =>be fair and be shared.
Thất bại lớn nhất của đời người là tự đại
Đáng thương nhất của đời người là tự ti.
Tự đại + Tự ti = thất bại đáng thương nhất

I am as unfamiliar as you.

Vị chi = that makes, the (total cost) is (from the net, dictionary)

from what I can gather it is more the result is/ the end is ?

ie Jack of all trade, result = master of none?
