The dictionary currently has over 52,000 entries. It can be downloaded as a single UTF8 text file and/or searched online. The dictionary is licensed under Creative Commons, meaning anyone can use it for any purpose as long as it is properly attributed.
I've been compiling this dictionary for almost 20 years, and I've decided to release it to the Internet community in the hopes that it might be helpful to other speakers and learners of both Vietnamese and English.
This project is analogous to the CEDICT (Chinese-English dictionary) project which I started back in 1997 and which now (as the CC-CEDICT) has over 100,000 entires, the majority of which were submitted and edited by volunteers.
My hope is that someday this project will also have a similar size and scope.
The dictionary is a work-in-progress and is constantly being updated, so any comments, suggestions, corrections, etc. would be warmly welcome and very much appreciated.
